Poker backlink and Adsense

    Hi!

I have been offered a fair amount of money to put a poker site backlink on my site's page. It will be just one backlink and will be within a webpage content (not a banner or ad). Now, my site is more or less defunct and does not even earn back its hosting bills, so this will at least keep it on its feet while I work on other things. Frankly, the poker website is not even a gambling site but since it belongs to the client I can't say how long that will be the case.

    My questions:
    1. What does Google Adsense say on this? Can having a poker backlink alone (within an otherwise non-poker based article) cause my adsense account to be banned?
    2. If I do remove the Adsense code from my site, will that be enough to avoid any issues or will I need to go and remove myself from GAnalytics and GAdsense.com?
    3. Can removal of Google Adsense cause my rankings to drop.

Any help is appreciated :) I need an answer fast, since I need to confirm/deny the client's offer.

    Thanks.

You can also remove the Ad sense code from your webpage and it has nothing to do with Ranking at all.

Can't have poker link and adsense on the same page. That's for sure.
Now for the other questions I will say no.

Thanks your guys! :) One more thing... well, just out of curiosity ;) If I do use the backlink and adsense on the same page, do they kick you out of adsense for good (band the adsense pub id) or do they just ban that particular site?

When they find out, which can take a looong time, I believe they will send you a 72h warning email to correct the problem or have ads disabled on your site. They could also disable ads immediatly and inform you. Then you could appeal by saying you removed the culprit and they might enable ads again. Finally they could chose to ban your whole account and sending just the generic email about yoru account posing risks to their advertizers.

I think the strategy they take will depend on the standing of your adsense account, that is your previous warnings and your earnings from other sites.

If everything else is ok, I guess there is not much to fear. But a bit of warning, if by "client" you mean you've receive a spam mentionning your url, and blabla, I receive many like this, they are spam, automated spam, and I never enter any deal following a spam, what I do, I reply to the spammers as long as they keep on replying and then I post the whole discussion on my site, free content and I show their ways to whoever google their name in the future following the spam emails.

Well, although it's only a poker website (with no money getting exchanged), I think I will go to the safer side of things and remove adsense (which is paying me squat). Will removing the adsense code from the website suffice?

A “One-Way Backlink” is simply a couple which points behind to your website from someone else’s though we carrying to retaliate back.It doesn’t have to get any some-more formidable than that.
