    What is a poke?
The poke feature can be used for a variety of things on Facebook. For instance, you can poke your friends to say hello. When you poke someone, they will receive a poke alert on their home page.

What happens when I poke someone?

When you poke someone, a poke icon will appear on his or her Home page with the option to "Remove Poke" or "Poke Back."

I hid a poke. Is there any way to get it back?

Once a poke is hidden, it's gone forever. The memories, however, will last a lifetime. Oh, and hiding a poke allows the other person to poke you again, which is always a good thing.

I poke all my friends most of the time and they poke back, just a way of saying hello.

It is a playful gesture as if you were poked in real life. "hey how are ya?" or "look at me". When I first found out about the Poke feature on Facebook, I thought it had a sexual connotation behind it. Maybe I had to get my mind out of the gutter. I did some research to find out what it means to poke someone on Facebook and I found several answers. I've even found a Facebook Parody about the subject. But I wanted to do my own research.

I think the real truth behind poking in Facebook is subjective and up to each individual user to interpret.

Well its just a time pass stuffs with which u can play with your friends or trouble them . Nothing so special just to grab attention of your friends that you are missing them . are why isnt he/she replying .
So just for fun . I just poke some friends . and they poke back .

Poking someone means you want to have sex with them. End of story.

'Poke' might be going the way of obsolescence.

I don't understand the "poke" and I'll be really surprised if it sticks around.
