Pointless sites

My site was placed (I didn't submit it) on http://pointlesssites.com/ and I have gotten about 150 uniques in the last hour. They take submissions, so if your site is pointless, it's worth the minute or so to submit.

 

That's kind of cool... I imagine none of us would like to think of our sites as pointless... but the increased traffic is fun?

That falling sand game is cool. Loved setting fire to the little falling guys.

 

It takes a lot of thought to come off as pointless, you do your job good!

Thanks, actually I have made it to quite a few similar sites, offhand, here's a list, some (I think most) take submissions:

Fark, slashdot, digg, i-am-bored, gorillamask, fazed, college humor, shoutwire/torrentspy, ebaum's world, major geeks, 2spare, cool site of the day (was paid submission back then), stumbled upon, leenks...

That's all I can recall of the top of my head but they all sent decent traffic with slashdot being the king by far.

 

When I made it to Slashdot front page, the page they linked to has the first banner ad and the banner is linked to someone elses website. I believe that they received about 25,000 uniques from my site that day and had some server problems as a result. Guess it was a sort of Slashdot effect by proxy.

My site managed to stay up and got well over 100K uniques that day.

 

Didnt I say, you're damn lucky

 

That's cool. I wish some of my sites were pointless.
