Hi DP members, I am thinking to buy a multiple domains for few categories of my website and point to the content with 301 permanent redirection. Do you think this is a good idea or it is completely wrong? Regards Kal
well there is nothing wrong in doing so but it has very little benefit that too in terms of direct traffic. you will get absolutely no benefit in terms of SEO
I think you are wrong! Many of the leaders in the same market did this and gain better searp, as this give you an options in link building and optimization
there are different conditions in doing so Mr kalseo. there is no point in buying fresh domains and redirecting them to the main domain. don't tell me you are going to build backlinks for the redirected domain.
I think you really dont understand the matter here. Let me make it more clear. One of the biggest hotel booking players in Thailand www.sawadee.com is using sub-domains for example and there are other websites that are targeting domains. So here it is: sawadee.com bangkok.sawadee.com phuket.sawadee.com ets... They are using same website, same CMS, but pointing to sub-domains which point back to main website. 42 destinations, 42 relevant website, 42 sites which can be optimized for differnet destinations. Same can be done creating a multiple domain website and the power will be even bigger. This is the point
I'd do it like this: 1 - buy your domains 2 - get some relevant, uniques and regular content on them 3 - leave them running for six months or so . . . building plenty of backlinks 4 - then 301 them to the relevant section Not sure if you would just be better off building links directly into your main site though - get the basics done first mate
