I have 5 or 6 main keywords. When I am adding back links how should I divide the number of back links? My main page has been optimized for these 5 keywords and I have section pages that are specifically about these 5 keywords. So if my main page has as one of its keywords the term - widgets - and a section page with the same widget keyword. Should I add back links on a 70-30% basis to my front page then section page? Or how do I handle these particular keywords in terms of back links?
Point your keywords to the correct internal pages, usually because they have better content than the home.
It depends if you want your homepage to rank for those keywords or if you want your internal page to show up in search results. When you use your homepage you have the added benefit of all previous homepage links you have built up. Sometimes an internal page is better optimized for a keyword, but it would probably need more links to get good rankings.
I've never thought of it as a percentage so I'm not sure but I would definitely mix it up. Most links probably should go to the home page but you should definitely build some to your best optimized/most popular pages. There's definitely value in those internal pages that you should try and maximize.
The bulk of your links should point at your homepage. Make sure there's plenty of URL based links into the homepage. Then you can direct really high quality text links into your subpages. The key is to make it look natural. A nice selection of URL and anchor text based links. HTH
Backlinks should be made targeted to those pages where you are targeting your keywords, if you are targeting your keywords over several pages, then you have to divide your efforts on the same ratio..
build more links for subpages for your website as they have more accurate and specific contents for a particlur keyword........
As said before, you should point some backlink to section pages, because they're richer in content. You'll get better and more targeted results.
