i have a good amount of links pointed to my front page
I read somewhere it is very good to get links to other pages in my site as well
will this help a lot or should i just concentrate on the most important page of my site the front page?
I'm 4 on yahoo and I'm pretty sure I'm sandboxed in google for lil while longer

For best use, you should point links to the most relevant page on your site, from the most relevant page on the anchor site. This will ensure that the visitor is taken right to the relevant stuff on your site.

For SEO ideally you should again point the link to the most relevant page, especially if you have good anchor text. lets's say you have a page about xxxtype body boards, then a single link to that deep page with the phrase 'xxxtype body boards' as anchor text, is going to boost that page to high heaven.

When link building keep this in mind, when the glass is full, do you
    1) keep pouring juice into it so it flows over the edges and wastes!
    2) move on to another glass and start filling that one.

You keep pouring till you burst through the sandbox - I have just seen an index page go from oblivion to 108th - a long way to go but this might be a sandbox breaker. Might have to put a few thousand co-ops from mine onto the clients page to finish off the job ... $100's of adsense may no longer be needed.

But yes, the option 2 makes absolute sense otherwise.

My feeling is that if you have links pointing to some of the sections of the site, then those sections are likely to get spidered more than they would otherwise.

    - Create groups of your keywords/phrases and target them in each section.
    - Have main page in each section and that page should get maximum links from that section with keyword as keyphrase
    - that main page should give link to homepage with keyword as anchortext and better if u use h1 on that page.
This way its easy to manage site and it creates tree like structure. Dont give all links to homepage. Pages which link to homepage should also have some values
