It has been suggested to me that one way to get backlinks is to create a podcast and then get yourself listed in podcast directories - with links leading back to your site of course. The idea would be that even if people are not listening to your podcasts, you would build up backlinks and get listed in Google quickly by getting listed in a bunch of podcast directories. Has anyone here tried this? Does it work?
This works as well as any other method to get backlinks, but I do not recommend going after this or any other method just for the backlinks. Put out something that adds value in some way. If you provide good content in your podcast, you will get people listening, and that can pay off much more than just the backlinks.
