Pneumonia...

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by deathshadow, Sep 12, 2016.

In November 2009, a legend across the web development community, one of my closest friends, and one of the most caring, giving, and selfless people I knew died of pneumonia. His name was Dan Schulz, and he was a member here, at Sitepoint, and on dozens of other forums helping others out of the good of his heart and asking little in return.

His family life was never easy, and the death of his mother put him in a dark place -- but Pneumonia is a fully treatable disease and he was just in the hospital earlier that same day! He came from a middle class family, had access to reasonable health care -- didn't matter one damned bit!

So, PLEASE, for the love of Christmas, those of you jackasses out there giving Mrs Clinton a hard time about having pneumonia, please do me a giant favor, and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

I am by no means a Clinton fan, quite the opposite. I recognize her for the career criminal she quite obviously is, but the behavior on the right over her illness, the calls for her to be shot or summarily executed, the cold, heartless asshattery displayed by the Drumpf and his supporters...
    SEMrush
There's a word for such behavior... what was it again, I had it right here... Oh, that's right.

    DEPLORABLE.

I'll wait while those of you banjo plucking inbred drunken bigoted racists Google what that word means.

First, I don't believe a single thing you said in your post.

Second, I didn't realize your were such a manipulator.

You took something so sacred - the death of your friend and used it to bring guilt and condemnation to anyone who will disagree with you.

The problem is (and you know it!) nobody knows for sure what her sickness is. It's all one big cover up.

The problem is (and you DEFINITIVELY know it!) you ARE a democrat (or at least you gravitate strongly towards their views). So how can you say you are not a big fan of hers? I am not buying it.

Calling people a bunch of deplorables (like she did) is deplorable. These are real hardworking Americans you're talking about. It's so f*cking low for you to even refer to them in that fashion!

So, here we go - I don't believe you. It's one lame post you posted there (with the exception of bringing back the memory of your closest friend).

OMG - one bad thing said and that cancels out the humiliation of the mother at a rally, the dreadful things Trump says on a daily basis, that's nuts.
There are thousands of democrats who aren't Clinton fans - haven't you seen all the new Sanders memes that have come out. They're as delighted as all the Trump fans.
When something touches a nerve, and brings back bad feelings - such as when a public figure experiences something that harmed yourself or a friend - it's not necessarily manipulation to explain why you are affected.
FWIW I had pneumonia a while back and there's no bloody way I was getting dressed up, made up and going out in public - and I wasn't even sick enough to need hospital treatment.

Sarahk, I didn't expect you to say anything other than what you just said. I know where you stand on Trump and the US election. My point wasn't about Hillary vs. Trump, my point was why in the world did deathshadow go so awry in his assessment of everything? It's as if he doesn't want to see the truth. He is a smart guy. Unless he's totally biased, which I believe he is, when it comes to this election. Again, let me repeat myself, nobody knows what her health issue is and unless we do, we shouldn't assume anything.

I don't see how he went so "awry".

I am amused at your use of Clinton's first name and Trump's last when referring to them. Speaks volumes.

Ha, that's an American thing. Very few here say Clinton while referring to Hillary Clinton and nobody says Donald while referring to Trump. Hillary / Trump that's what we say... At least the people I know. So... you see how you've misinterpreted my respect for either one of them.

One day, she claims it is an "allergic reaction" then suddenly it's pneumonia.

What is DEPLORABLE is the left and/or others thinking that individuals like Hilary Clinton cannot be questioned. No matter what they do.

They get a free pass (by their mindless followers) every single time.

Thanks and have a nice day.

When my son was very young he had it too, took him to our regular doctor on our way out of town for the weekend and was told he was fine, just a sniffle. Didn't take long to escalate and for us to have a very unwell child.

When I had it my husband hauled me into a 24hr clinic at 4am because my ears and throat were so painful. The doctor checked my lungs and I kept saying my lungs were fine. In less than 12 hours they weren't.

It's completely plausible that she and her team thought one thing and another happened.

If someone says "Clinton", they will probably think of former president Bill Clinton, Hillary's husband, and not Hillary herself. Bill Clinton, a rapist and longtime sexual predator of women, is the star of the American Democratic Party and darling of the liberal left. Hillary is riding his coattails in this campaign as she did in the previous campaign as she did in her Senate campaign. She is not the star. He is. He attracts the crowds and the donors, she does not. He's Clinton, she's Hillary. Always will be. Trump? Everybody knows who that refers to.

    https://twitter.com/atensnut

Now that's deplorable. And Billy boy's victim refers to Hillary by her first name, too.

Who remembers when Hillary fell and hit her head and suffered a concussion and blood clot in her brain? This is just another thing that Hillary Clinton is probably lying about. Questioning a candidate's health is fair game. Here's Hillary being held up and then dragged into the van by the Secret Service.

    From 2012:
    http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/12/31/hillary-clintons-holiday-health-woes/
It's the same excuse this time around as it was in 2012. And just like last time, Hillary Clinton claims that other people she was working around got the illness, too. But none of them fell and hit their head last time nor did any of them seize up and have to be dragged into a van this time around.

Hillary seems to get the worst of the illnesses that are going around...

Apart from the release of medical records, which makes it a hell of a lot more believable and far more "transparent" than the goofy haired orange bigot.

... and no that pseudo-science quack Dr. Oz does not qualify as a legitimate medical source, no matter how many soccer mommies yum up his bullshit.

So now you magically know all my political views? Wow, must be incredible to be able to draw such insight on little to no facts or evidence.

Laughably, I'm a fiscal conservative and a social liberal -- makes me unwelcome on either side of the fence; and even in the middle, what with green having the worst of the libbies herpaderp on things like GMO's and vaccines, and the libertarian party (of which I was once a proud member) having been hijacked by tea-bagger republicans who figured out -- Hey, if we package our bleak social outlook and "rich for the rich, screw everyone else" mantra in "Yeah, but we'll let you have pot and a twist of the coat hanger"... Suck as libertarianism used to have a humanitarian aspect, the limits on freedoms ending at impinging on those of others, and the provision that a free society must work together to uplift everyone. That latter half seems to have been drop-kicked into the Grand Canyon by today's crowd who just want "me, me, me, to hell with anyone else".

... shades of what happened to intellectual anarchism in England 40 years ago; where it went from a humanist movement to crackpot terrorists.

I'm pro 2nd amendment, pro gun control (assuming we could get laws made by people who know something about guns -- which so far has never happened, see the halfwit "assault weapon" ban.). I'm pro death penalty, pro choice. "straight edge" anti-drug but pro legalization. I'm pro social programs, and also interested in seeing wasteful government spending curtailed... and unlike most of the so called fiscal conservatives, I wouldn't point the finger at the 0.003% of the national budget that is social programs like welfare... I would probably start with Government employees and civil servants who make on average ten times what the constituency does. I'd love to see the typical Congressman live on what your average retiree is expected to on social security...

But to be fair, I live in a state where our state reps get paid $200 every two years for their service... TOTAL. No expense account, no gas money, if you're nice the state might pick up subs from a local hole in the wall out of petty cash. Were that more governments were run that way. You'd have a lot less greedy assholes jockeying for the job.

Of course, as I've said a few times if Trump and his supporters want to roll the social mores back to the worst of pre-civil rights McCarthyist paranoia, racism and bigotry, they should have the common decency to let the lefties roll the tax code back to 1955 as well... you know, when America was actually at it's most prosperous despite a top marginal tax rate of 95%? What was that amount Bernie wanted to set that people called over the top and crazy? In fact called it Communist Socialism? Oh, that's right... 45%.

Because when I think the perfect role model for Communist Socialism, I think the Eisenhower administration. For those of you mouth breathers who missed it, that's called sarcasm.

Of course, both sides use the average Joe's utter and complete ignorance of how tax margins work to manipulate public opinion on that subject.

It's also a laugh watching both the extremes; it's comical how for all intents and purposes, the lefties view on GMO's, Vaccines, and so forth is their equivalent of climate denial and evolution. Psuedo-science quackery regardless of which pant leg you put it down.

So basically, you're saying racism, bigotry, sexism and xenophobia isn't deplorable? Wow, you must be such a wonderful person!

Of course I love how if you defend Hillary on something, you're magically a radical democrat... if you attack her on the ACTUAL sleazy things she's been found guilty of like walking off with the White House furniture, or her history of throwing others under the bus to cover her own ass, magically you're a died in wool Trump supporter.

Is it so wrong to think they're ALL scum? Hell, if this election has done anything, it's let the deepest darkest ugliest scum ooze out from the cracks... on ALL sides.

Though it's crazy the shit being thrown at her right now just to see what sticks, when there's plenty of old dirt she WAS guilty of, or could be used to assassinate her character... like certain shady real-estate dealings that she probably would have been prosecuted for if she wasn't first lady and the world wasn't more interested in slick willy slippin' it to a intern. You could almost say Monica took one for the team... Or the laughing about getting a pedophile racist she knew committed the crime off scott free.

Benghazi? Bupkis... user error. Christmas sake we're a computer forum here, do you REALLY think that ANYONE on the hill that's elected or nominated to office is qualified to know if their e-mail is secure or not? If there's fault to be laid, it's at whoever set up her home server, and whoever left the door open for her home server to talk to a secure one... whoever should have been instructing her in proper security practices.

... and no, C does not mean classified!!! It means Confidential, one of FOUR ratings of classification alongside Secret, Top Secret, and Disseminate. The last one is rarely discussed or even used since it means open to anyone. In addition to those designation there's a group, and if you're not part of that group even if you have a higher clearance, you're not cleared to it. You can have a top secret level clearance, but if the confidential document is for group BARZONE, and you're not in group BARZONE, you're not allowed to access it nor is anyone allowed to give it to you.

... as anyone who's actually held a clearance could tell you.

There's plenty of really good dirt that can be used on her - her record speaks for itself - but the stuff being thrown at her the past two months is starting to reek of the same bullshit as the crackpot nonsense you hear from "9/11 truthers", creationists, or anti-vax whackjobs.

Honestly she gets in, some of the stuff that happened during the primaries could end up being her Watergate... literally.

I don't care how hard-working they are. If they're a racist, they're a dirtbag. if they're a bigot, they're a sleazy dirtbag. If they're a bible thumping jackass who calls for people who don't salute the flag to be shot, they're such a sleazy jerkwad dirtbag they wouldn't know a redeeming social virtue if it turned around and bit them in the ass. Much less understand what America is supposed to mean.

But again, when fascism comes to America it will be carrying a cross, wrapped in the flag, and smelling of Apple pie.

    Joe Sixpack: Oooh, PIE!!!

Deplorable is a NICE word compared to some of what comes to mind -- as the Grandson of a camp survivor, I have far harsher words I could and would use than deplorable. That you basically mindlessly quoted the Trump sound-byte for "defending" these slimy assholes? Classic.

Honestly, given the calls on the right for her to be shot -- outright public death threats as "political free speech" -- I think she's actually been playing pretty nice all things considered... though I recognize the tactic. My family were millwrights in the rope industry... I fully recognize the tried and true tactic of letting someone manufacture their own rope, just so you can walk over and give it just the right tug at just the right moment. You'd almost think she has decades of practice at the sleazy white-collar criminal game known as politics.

Even lower is defending them. Shall we get you your Klan membership card now, or do you want to wait until David Duke wins his senate bid? I'm still playing with the idea of opening that web-store selling brown shirts and jack-boots if you'd be interested in being my first customer.

See, I can make wild unfounded claims about your views too...

...and yeah, @qwikad and @billzo have it right on the name thing; that's an American thing. Partly because after years of "THE Donald' nobody -- even his supporters -- want to go there, and partly so we know we're talking about her and not her husband. You almost NEVER hear anyone call him Donald unless they're doing so sarcastically and appending "THE" to it and conversely you rarely if ever hear her referred to as Clinton.

Land sakes people, if you're going to be insulting, it's "Billary" and "Drumpf", get it right...

Really, "THE Donald" has ended up as tired a joke as BRIAN BLESSED!!!.

As to illness, and concealing it in politics, I'm reminded of a US President who had a debilitating disease that meant he could barely stand... it was kept from the world as a great secret for nearly a decade, even for quite a time after he died in office. It was considered so important to keep his condition a secret even the Russians colluded in covering it up at summits of the world powers (or should I say "Allied forces"?). The disease was polio. Said president was a Democrat too... and his uncle -- also a president -- was a Republican.

Damn we need to resurrect the progressive party.

Gah, I wish Ron ran this time around instead of his dipshit son. Hell at this point I'm half tempted to vote for Vermin Supreme just out of protest... Because of course, if I'm such a democrat, that vote for Ron Paul last time around really spelled it out, right?

You do realize that this is dated back to earlier in the year, right?

Or you could vote for Bernie Sanders. . .

    He is a libertarian.

    Ring, ring...

    Me: "Who is there?"
They (aka unwashed masses in deathshadowland): "We're a bunch of banjo plucking deplorables."
    Me: "What do you want?"
They: "Can you tell deathshadow to pack his suitcases and move the hell out of our country. What he said totally dilled our pickle."
    Me: "Where would he go?"
They: "Let him try Canada. He sounds just as happy here as a mule chewing on bumblebees."

There is nothing bigoted about enforcing the law and deporting illegal immigrants. All of whom are coming to America for one reason, and that reason is not to slave away at low-paying jobs.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/immigran...ilies-stay-us-081038988--politics.html?ref=gs

It's not a coincidence that the vast majority of immigrants to America or Europe are coming from nations with no welfare and landing in countries with generous freebies.

All immigrants arriving legally qualify for Medicaid and food stamps and the public housing projects in the metro where I live are filled with immigrants. The last thing a nation that is $19.5 TRILLION in debt needs is more poor mouths to feed. Add up the cost to educate one child through K-12 public school and almost no immigrants will pay enough in taxes to educate one child, let alone multiple children. And poorer people breed at high rates meaning they will cost even more than natives.

Almost all immigrants are a net drain on society. They will never pay enough in taxes to cover their costs. There is nothing bigoted about simple math either. It's fact. Highly-skilled and educated immigrants contribute to society. These folks waltzing across the border add nothing but take as much as they can.

Dr. Oz is a flake and a quack but he's also a skilled surgeon. Sorry, but Hillary has collapsed more than once and blamed both instances on "illnesses that are going around". It's a crock of sh*t. She's lying, her doctor is lying. Her calcium count is proof that she's in good health? How about her two collapses, head trauma, being dragged into a van... That's not a sign of a healthy person and if someone is too stupid to keep themselves hydrated, they certainly are not qualified to be president.

And it was FDR's and his party's tax increases that made the Depression much worse that it would have otherwise been and created the world's biggest ponzi scheme known as Social Security. A top tax rate of 79% installed during a Depression? Is that going to help or hurt the economy? The answer is obvious, even to you.

The interesting thing about Social Security is that it was such a sweet deal when it started with such low costs nobody could oppose it. All seniors who never contributed instantly got free money and the contribution amount was low for a promise of a guaranteed lifetime of free cash when you turn 65. And then the Social Security tax went up, and up, and up, and up, and up, and that same party that created it wants to raise SS taxes even higher today.

And the federal income tax was created with similar Democrat deception. The tax originally started as small with a top rate of 7% and was primarily on upper income people leaving the majority of the country untouched. Then the tax went up and up and up and up and ensnared the middle-class and they still want more money to feed their vote-buying and immigration machines.

The same party that deceived us with federal income taxes deceived us with Social Security and deceived us with Obamacare and in so many other ways.

And Hillary is deceiving us about her health. Her first "stomach virus" that caused her to fall and hit her wittle head left her with double vision for which she had to wear these prism glasses.

Her injuries from her last "illness" were long-lasting. Who knows this time around? Would she tell the truth now when she never has before?

Choose someone other than Hillary. Her husband did. Many, many times.

How in the hell does someone campaigning not have time to hydrate themselves? Does she "forget" to drink something or do the planes she's flying on for hours at a time "forget" water or some other fluids. .

Probably the same way that during long public appearances politicians are often are catheterized so they don't have to excuse themselves to the restroom.

NOT a joke. Only reason I could see enjoying a Trump inauguration, knowing that most likely they'd do that to him before the parade. Couldn't happen to a more deserving fellow.

Though I don't think I could see Billary or Drumpf actually walking most of the route like Dubya and Laura did.

... and if you have a proper viral infection -- like say pneumonia -- dehydration can creep up on you after two or three really good sessions on the throne... possibly "dignifying the masses" from both ends as it were. Much like with certain cases of food poisoning or the flu, it can actually become impossible to take in enough liquid to keep up with what's coming out. This is more true lung related since as the oxygen levels drop the hard mineral counts go up... leading to ketoacidosis (breakdown of fatty tissues into too many ketones in the blood), acidemia (too much potassium), hypernatraemia (too much sodium), and in extreme cases hematuria. (blood in the urine).

Hypernatraemia has the lovely side effect of also decreasing the thirst, which combined with the chest pain can lead to an inability to even take in liquid by normal means.

Which is when you go to the ER and run a bag of saline (or two) on you and hold you for a few hours until you're stable.

Hence why the people coming up with noodle doodle crackpot theories and saying "that's not a real disease" or "not enough reason" are ignorant twits.

... and again I'm saying twits, but mean a somewhat stronger word with a different vowel.
