PM's Sent and Inbox

Hey there, is there currently something wrong with the PM storage system? I have sent out a few PM's to some people and they have not been saved in my sent folder, to go along with this I have also recieved some messages over half an hour ago (can read them via emaiL) yet there is no trace of them in my inbox. I have cleared my cookies and logged out twice, and used different browsers.. is this a DP issue?

Edit: Also I noticed at the bottom that it claimed I was the only active user, so it must be some wierd database issue. The forums went down for approximately 5 minutes for me after posting this thread (and it didn't appear until just now). Lots of problems to go around :)

I think some of the databases are a bit out of sync. I too am getting delays in marking PM's as read, PM's appearing in Inbox / Sent etc. I'm guessing there is a backlog in the replication of each insert to all servers.

I had a similar issue where I couldn't access the board for a while... was that an internal thing? or individual?

    (*sorry for the off topicness)

It's the whole site, I've had the problem most of the evening. It was taking around 30 seconds to load my Inbox.

A few weeks back I posted on this subject because I'm a survivor from a huge forum crash after DB problems upgrading software versions over and over without running a DB optimization routine religiously.

I really hope DP's database is being backed more often than usual and a parallel solution being worked out as suggested previously.

Another good solution would be make of this an only-read archive forum under a subdomain, let's say archive.digitalpoint.com and start over this one with a fresh install linking to the archived version for further reference :rolleys:

I think that would cause a serious loss in traffic from all the indexed SE threads / remotely linked threads etc... Everything would need to be 301'd.

Oh, so that's why I've been having problems with PMing & receiving PMs!
It baffled me for a while, but I figured it must have been my browser's cache & so I just switched browsers.
