it's well designer with the grunge style.. but you use a lot of elements which make the website too heavy.. but at all for one, good job ;)

doesn't looks like a professional one, but good job, try to give some light color in background.. you should also draw a good house. be more creative.

the frankstudio site i find far to busy, there seems to be so much going on I don't know where to look .
which means i'm probably missing the content.
you need to focus the eye onto where you want hte visitor to see

Frankwebstudio needs improvement. get rid of that looping .gif on the side, make your menu flat so I can read what it says without tilting my head, change your colour scheme so text doesn't blend into the background, add an element behind the body of the page to add structure.

    Hi Frankmust,

I'm not a good designer, but I know that you want some comment to improve your skills.
So these are my comments for both sites:
    1. Too busy - maybe because of so many elements
    2. Inconsistent - elements are random and no branding, maybe focus on branding and target market

Maybe you try looking at some website, example: http://www.awwwards.com/

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks and God bless always!

    Best regards,

Sorry my friend but I really dislike the site :( Reminds me of some 90's old site.
Too many elements, dark colors, huge contrast making it almost unreadable... to hard to stay there for more than 30 seconds at its' best.
Revise your colors set and the working line.
    Good luck

The first site is way too busy. :( I had to guess the client does custom work on antique cars. I'd look for better graphics (i.e. mechanics background) and suggest you recommend the client adds Youtube or vimeo video highlighting their services and whatever else they offer in their car detailing shop. 4/10

Your portfolio site it's too messy. I advise you to look at other web designer's portfolio sites and select your best projects to show potential clients. Lost the 90's style graphics (e.g. wings, etc). 3/10

Honestly, these aren't great (speaking from both an aesthetic and functional manner).

Consider thinking more about user experience. The way the sites are at the minute don't present a very user-friendly experience. Things to think about:

    1) You've got massive background images which, on slower computers, take time to render. I'd suggest dropping these altogether and sticking with either a plain colour or CSS(3) generated gradients if you really want that.

    2) You've got inconsistent fonts, some of which are very hard to read. Stick with a maximum of two fonts per design and you'll be golden. Of course, use regular, semi-bold and bold variations of these fonts, but I'd avoid the grungy fonts, particularly for client design.

    3) Colours. They're pretty random at the minute. You've got green, red and blue in one of the designs. Not only is the colour important when considering the user interaction (red usually represents an error, for example) but to mix them all up isn't great.

    4) Think carefully about your structure. It's not clear to me what you want your users to do at the minute. Smashing Magazine did a great article on this using what they're calling the AIDA (it's in one of the published Smashing Mag books too, which may be worth buying if you're serious about improving).

It's great to see new designers showing off their work and I hope I don't sound to harsh with this feedback, it's not that your work is utterly appalling, it's that I can identify the placed where you can improve and I hope you take this into consideration.

Here's that Smashing Magazine article I was talking about: http://uxdesign.smashingmagazine.com/2008/04/24/5-more-principles-of-effective-web-design/

I don't like it. Simple word to explain your work is chaos.

Throw it out the window and start over! You want to present yourself as a professional "Web Designer" to prospective clients not look as someone who has taken up a new hobby. Your website is still all over the place with the different font types and large graphics. Plus its difficult reading the content in two different languages; install Google translate to allow your content in German to be translated to visitors' native language.

Seems good but the background image takes too much amount of time to load. Try to be consistent with colors, fonts etc. Try to create a prototype first and then take reviews from peoples and then do coding.

It's unique, but it's too cluttered and it looks like it was designed in the early 2000's.

The Website is not looking neat. The elements were not organized well. I am little bit confused where to look at first. Though it stands unique among other Websites.

    I would have to say that it is a little too dark for my taste; but i need to say that it is looking nice if you take each part at a time;
I can see that it fits your style (comparing both sites)
Maybe you would like to work on the usability part a little more.

    Good Luck.

I find your websites generally attractive. You will probably improve details(e.g. on the first site, door should stay opened if we keep cursor on it) as you get more experienced. Always try to get better and keep up the good work :)
