Directory submissions help gain backlinks to your website, they are generally low quality and have little SEO benefit. You're better off spending your time writing well worded articles on your own website then submitting your link to hundreds of directories. If you do decide to get some links from directories, then there are plenty of websites that will do manual submissions for you, at a fairly low cost.
I agree with you. The thing that I don't like directory submission is, it is a waste of time because it will take long time to be approved or will be declined.
