PLZ HELP !!! Low CTR and Poor adsense earnings......

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by passionate_rohan, Aug 12, 2008.

I have an adsense account which is performing damn poor. I earned $6.9 in 3 months, with a CTR of 0.13%. The sites receive average amount of traffic (organic and inorganic both), have been SEO'ed with good keywords and title.

Also I've used some high paying keywords for my adsense account. I have also tried different placement techniques but the earnings remained the same.

Could anyone please help me out or suggest me some tips for the same ?

Here are the links to my websites-

    WebFreeze
    Lyrics Beach
    Gaming Beach

Someone told me that the niches of my sites are not good for adsense. Is it true ?

Also please guide me how to filter out low paying advertisers

I will be very thankful for your support.

You can earn money with any niche. All you need is traffic.

    Traffic =$$$

And your CTR is very low. Try to improve it by trying different ad units and different ad placements.

Your earnings sound about right for the traffic your getting to be honest..

WebFreeze looks like its your top performer with traffic so play around with the ad placement some more. I checked it out and the Adsense stands out like a sore thumb and makes me not want to click on them, maybe try blending them in more with the content or try a couple of image ads?

You need to look at getting more than 1K visitors per day to start seeing some real earnings from Adsense (I'm not saying you can't earn with 200UVs but your never going to earn alot unless you increase your traffic!)

You can also try LESS ADS, the reason is Adsense shows the highest paying ads first so if you have less displayed people are more likely to click on one that pays better.

Also try integrating the ads better into your site design so they blend in better.

    It's actually rather simple:

Your Webfreeze does not see many ad clicks, simply because it already is the product, people came looking for in the first place. Also it is cramped with ads, making it look like yet another MfA site, which usually drives people away instead of attract them. Maybe this article about understanding adsense is of some use.

Same problem with Lyricsbeach. This one does not only look like MfA, it pretty much is and therefore even endangers your account.

Gamingbeach: Well, it is about games, meaning your visitors attention is fixed on the game, they won't even notice the ads.

Traffic = $$$ is not always the case. It depends what type of traffic it is. If you have knowledgeable internet users then they wont click useless ads. For example, I get 2500 impressions a day and not one single click. It's because my users know that ads generally are crap.

You are using CPM ads more than text ads so use the text ads for some time. If that performs well stick to it.

I agree that you can make $$$ with any niche but some niches require more traffic than others to make it worthwhile. I'd recommend to continue build backlinks and maybe exchange links with other similar sites to move up in the SERPs for your keywords.
