Plz Be honest! Is my ad placement, site colors, keywords that bad?

I'm no web guru, but I thought I did pretty darn good job when I set up this site www.stoppedsnoring.com and got some hits initially. I thought it was an interesting topic and used a good layout, colors, keywords and content. I haven't seen a single penny yet from the adsense ads and can't figure out what's wrong. Can anyone shed a little light on where I might be missing the boat?

How many impressions are you getting/day?

On my sites, link units (those in the left hand column) don't tend to get many clicks. The 300x250 has absolutely nothing to do with the content when I look, so it's not surprising that visitors ain't clicking. Your adverts need to be related to the content.

Hmm.. that's strange. All the ads do deal with snoring when I look at my site. Could it be that Google is somehow taking into account your preferences or search history and using that info for ad content rather than based on the subject matter of my site?

Its nice looking, how long has it been since you placed adsense there? Put a privacy policy in place there, google require it.

Thanks for the tip on the privacy policy. I've had the ads in there a few weeks. Maybe I need to wait longer then?

It depends where your traffic is coming from and how targetted it is, the amount of traffic can help too but not always necessary to be higher, a blog that i have is fine with a steady but modest amount of traffic.

A lot of people talk about increase your traffic but if that traffic is not real people, or not the type that you want then its no help, also people say increase your traffic but they dont tell you how.

It might be a case of waiting, adding more content can help, dont worry about how much, its better to add one good article a week than 7 poor quality ones.

With any site that i have adsense on im always careful, i make sure that im complying with their rules and the last thing that i want is a traffic surge that causes some out of the ordinary behaviour on the site that might lead to problems with adsense.

Its refreshing to see a nice looking site.

I do like the colors, a lot actually. A few suggestions. You need to get the urls changed to more SEO urls. There are plugins that can help you with it, or you can edit it in your settings. I also think you need an ad closer to the top of the page.

When I hit the main page there is no ads other than the text links on the side and one at the bottom. I would add in a 468x60 or skyscraper ad towards the top of the page or add a 120x600 or 120x240 text ad above the navigation.

The bottom right add placement sux....That just says to others, click here because I make money if you do....

You need to make it look part of the page, of course... Put it right next to your video.

I Also think you need some text links across the top of your site as well. Either, right next to "Introduction" or right below it in the same box.

Make the ad down the left hand side a little bigger.. Make it look like its part of the site...

I was just about to say that, either move it up or change it into 728x90 and put it under the video.

Hi Salright, I just went to your site and clicked on a few of your ads. Did you make any money from these clicks?

    Hello Salright,
I just came from your site and your Adsense links are gone. Hope you are making the recommended changes, and not Google. Only other suggestion I would have is possibly in your choice of titles. Did an adwords keyword check on the titles and the amounts per click are less than $0.50 per click. I'd start there, not rewrite the content but SEO the titles and do a search for how many paid advertisers come up on the page for my title keywords.

    Hello Salright,
    1. move your link unit on top in the sidebar.
    2. Put a leaderboard on top or a large rectangle just after the title. And it will be better if you could put some text between title and the large rectangle.
    3. Place a large rectangle just after the post and before the comments box.
