How do you decide whether to go for a singular or plural form
of a keyword for your new domain?
    What is your thinking process?

is for example dogsfood better than dogfood or vice versa?

In that case, I would go to Google Adwords keyword tool and check which one of those has most searches monthly ;)

dogfood is definitely better than dogsfood.

It all really comes down to the name, eg. I would say Cars.com is better than Car.com, but generally singulars are better & worth more. All really depends on the name.

I suppose that there are many words that are more often typed in as plural. people search for hotels, computers, pencils, etc.
