plural vs singular domain name

We all know that singular word is better than plural. But is not always like that. Sometimes plural is better. My question is: If I find both plural and singular COM's free..should I take them both or just one which suits me better?

ya , you are right there is no one single rule , for example i read only on this forum , example that "hotgirls" would be much better than "hotgirl " as people may be more attracted by the idea of more than one.

, i think it depends on the subject of the domain , but in my personalview i think singular is much better in most of the cases ,
as people are lazy enough to add s to the name while typing .

another approch could be imagine yourself as a customer , which one comes easily to your mind , or which one would you prefer to type .

i myself is a newbie, seniors can give much better answers.

Get both if they are really good and you plan to put a lot of time and effort to this site.

I agree with napa. It is always better to get both domains if you intend to put in significant amount of work

I think that it depends very much on how that sine name sounds.
If it is more catchy to the user .....

In fact this is all about, to make users remember that name, to make users come back...

    Cheers.

I don't get your intervention and have a feeling you did not read my msg, as I said:

"We all know that singular word is better than plural. But is not always like that. Sometimes plural is better. "

In most cases singular is more valuable.
What was point of your reply?

at the end if the singular and plural are both available, just grab them, cause if you register only 1 of them and launch a web venture, there soon will be someone else garbing the left over domains. this again depends on the popularity of your web venture.

Check your log file or stats through awstats, if you find visitors querying both, you should optimize both.

I think its better to register both..and then forward the singular one to the plural one or vice versa..

which ever sounds better to you should be the primary domain hosted on the site. Create a brand around it. and forward the second one onto it.
