plugins

Hello, I am installing http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,144/Itemid,35/
and it has a plugin how do install plugins?

 

I have a funny feeling that 'plugins' are the new name for 'mambots'. In theory, you should be able to install it as a mambot without problems.

 

yes i have that same feeling too, its ok though i installed it, and its working, also some other stuff have "plugins" but they are installed trough their own menu

 

I was always curious to why they didn't rename Mambots to Joombots.

 

haha very true. i always thought that too.

 

The only reason I can think of is that eventually, apparently, they're moving to a single installation process: components, modules and joombots (I agree about the name) will all eventually be called 'plugins' and just install the same way.

I believe that's the case. Why they decided to just rename one for the time being is beyond me.
