Yet Another Related Posts Plugin (YARPP) is the most famous one and it's very good to display related articles with thumbnails... You can check also Relevant Plugin that do the same... Goodluck
I use nRelate. You can place it below the article, manual placement is also available. The flyout version is also available.
Hi, There are many plugins in the market where you can show related post at the end of the every post. But, I need to emphasis on one question i.e Is your plugin is SEO optimize or not?? I would personally recommend using some external plugins such Linkwithin. It is well SEO optimize plugin which help in ranking factor. There's a lot go good plugins out there, but I'd take Ben's advice and make sure it's SEO optimized. A lot of plugins will route the user through a third party site (the user clicks on the link, they are sent off your site and then back to the related content). In terms of SEO, this is not a good way of interlinking content.
