Plugin to check page load time?

Is there a plugin or website that i can use to test the individual loading of my posts and pages? My webhost says it's my theme and plugins that's causing it to load slowly. I've changed the theme to the twenty ten default and minimized the plugins, but it still seems to be loading slowly. I don't think it's my connection or browser, I think it's the server that's causing some problems. I use the same theme and plugins on another account I'm hosting with them and have no problems with that account. Strangely enough the vps is giving me problems while the reseller account seems to run faster, I've had server issues with the vps before.

Any good ways to check how fast the page loads?

    Thanks

pingdom is the best one to use, it's top quality and very accurate, Google pingdom

I've made several test and pingdom is the best - but have some problems with my WP total cache plugins I have to tweak a lot

You might try Firefox addons, because Wordpress plug-ins will only slow down your websites

    Sounds like Go Daddy.

I've talked to a lot of hosts and they will always blame WordPress and it's plug ins rather than admit that they have a crap load of sites sharing the same server and IP address. Even though they offer WordPress as a free installation script.

I've put this theory to the test by disabling all plug ins, and then they proceeded to blame my computer, ISP, Modem and everything else under the sun.
This is how shared hosting providers are.

I was able to do my own simple investigation and found that the only sites having the issue were ones on the same IP address. All other client sites with that host were functioning just fine.

VPS is still shared hosting, though supposedly you are sharing with less sites.

Here is a link to the performance plug in that I think you are referring to:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/p3-profiler/

You might also try WP-Super Cache to see if that speeds things up. If not, last resort before upgrading your hosting is to see if getting a dedicated IP will solve the problem.

If none of that works and you are still getting the run around, I'd move hosts.

Thanks for the replies. The thing that I'm trying to check is if it's the account itself that's giving me the problems and apparently that's the case. I tried several domains from the vps account that's giving me problems and several from a regular reseller account, both were using the same theme and plugins, but the vps was WAY slower (30-60 seconds to load). The vps is supposed to be way faster.

I've contacted hostgator about it. Again. They've been very responsive but they keep saying it's something other than the server. I have 3 different accounts with them and this is the only one that has this problem. It's about the third time with this account, I might have been better off getting 3 different reseller accounts for the price I'm paying for the vps.

BTW I did try disabling most of the plugins and used the default theme and THAT was taking 30-60 seconds to load. I sent tech support the domain and I'm awaiting there response. The thing is moving the amount of domains on the vps is a major job.:(

    Thanks

How many websites do you have under one hosting account?
    How many different IP addresses?

About 4 dozen domains under a single IP (vps), there's supposed to be 2 IP's but only one works. Anyway if it would've made a difference I imagine hostgator would have mentioned it, there's been a whole lot of emails exchanged.

The response I received from them was that I am using WP Robot and other CPU intensive plugins, however I'm using the exact same plugins and theme on their reseller account and those have been working okay for more than a year without any problems. Plus the domain I sent them I disabled the theme (I'm using the twenty ten default now) and disabled a bunch of plugins and it's still taking forever to load. I'm probably going to need 2 to 3 days to transfer all the blogs to another account :(

They supposedly did something to speed it up but it's still taking from 40-60 seconds to load according to pingdom.com. I was kinda wondering why traffic dropped off all of a sudden.

    Thanks

Well, I have to side with Hostgator on this one. You have a lot of things running on one account. Autoblog plug ins take A LOT of CPU. I'm surprised you are getting such good speed on VPS with all of the other things you have not just on the same account, but on the same IP address.

Again, with shared hosting (even VPS) you are at the mercy of what else is running on the server and you wouldn't have any idea what someone else is running.

Just the domains sitting shouldn't be causing any drain, but if you have 48 websites and various email accounts all coming off of that one account, under one IP address? ...That is a lot. I don't have that much running on a Dedicated Hosting account...especially with the autoblog plug in running.

Honestly, I'm surprised that they haven't told you that you need to upgrade.

Traffic probably dropped because of the load times. Most people won't wait that long and will assume something is wrong with the site, it's filled with spy or adware, isn't there anymore, or just plain get tired of waiting.

I admit that having them on one IP address isn't ideal and this is a lot of domains, but I did upgrade twice for the supposed increase in space and speed. And it's not like there's a ton of traffic eating up the cpu and bandwidth, the autoposting plugins aren't really autoposting, I'm only using them because it automatically updates the price, basically I use the shortcodes to have it automatically update and I manually make and edit the posts. In other words no autoposting is being done.

The thing that kinda irks me is that I got a vps just for my money sites so they would be faster, but for the same price I could have instead opened 3 reseller accounts with just over a dozen sites on each for the same price and they would be way faster. Now I need to spend several days just transferring the domains over :(

After seeing how slow the sites are loading I know why the traffic suddenly dropped off.

    Thanks
