I probably wouldn't use wordpress for a wallpaper site, ive had wallpaper sites in the past and ive always used specific wallpaper site scripts, it will be possible to use wordpress but aslong as it has bulk upload options to import wallpapers youll be fine the good thign about wordpress is its very seo friendly with the other seo plugins they offer so you will be able to rank high hopefully.

Use SEO Friendly Images plugin. Do not forget to any images in the given code "tittle" to be more friendly to search engines. Then the result will look like the image below.
