There is a nifty set of plugins called BuddyPress that is under development which will add social networking user experience to Wordpress MU. Unfortunately BuddyPress, although it has lots of hype, is still fairly incomplete. I was wondering if anyone knows of and/or could suggest some WP MU plugins to approximate BP's capabilities until its ready. - Friends list with pictures - Extended profile fields - Forum integration I have found solutions out there for the forum integration. Lots of options. But the first two I've been having trouble tracking down some plug-ins. As an alternative solution, I thought about finding a forum that has the social networking enhancements and then a integration with Wordpress. So the user logins are sync'd between them but the enhanced profile type stuff and friends list is coming from the forum end. Not sure if something like that exists either.
