Dreamhost is one of the worst hosting providers on the internet. If you have a personal site, with almost no traffic and small databases than they are ok but too expensive for what they offer. Check this thread and avoid dreamhost http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=697266&highlight=dreamhost
Servage is at the same class with Dreamhost, Bluehost. As EvcRo mentioned, if it's your personal site, it is fine. But for serious business, I would look for other good ones
I've heard a lot of ppl saying servage is the same as dreamhost, maybe I was lucky with my servage acc. but for me it really was streets ahead of DH. I had 2 dreamhost accounts and 2 servage ones, my site whilst hosted on dreamhost took about 10-15 seconds to load each page wheras on servage it was about 1-2 seconds. There really was no comparison + for less that 10 bucks I was hosting a popular site getting 10k+ pageviews a day with no lag or downtime. I only had problems when I started getting more than 14k pageviews a day at which point I was making enough $ to go dedicated. For me servage was the perfect stepping stone while I was establishing my site + still wasn't sure if it would take off.
I've tried a few and Hostgator and Myriad Networks have been my favorites. Some others have been crappy, but I won't list the names. You *do* get what you pay for.
