Guys..I have bought a WP blog from someone and he has send me files and database via email and transferred the domain to my goaddy account. He has given me domain + website content not hosting. Now I have uploaded all the files (WP files ) and imported the database after buying hosting. Everything was perfect upto this point. Now I need to make changes to my WP blog according to me but I'm unable to login into WP. It is asking for the password and username. Where can i find username, password and the seller is not responding (he might be busy, but I'm panic). Could any of you WP geek tell me where can I find password and username. I'm sure it will be there in the files but which file?. I'm myself a PHP/MYSQL programmer..but i always stuck with WP. Please help me out. Thanks in advance !
query the user table , you might have to overwrite the password of admin in the table and only then you will be able to login.
Remember that the password in the database will be encrypted though. Either ask the seller to reset the password and upload the database again or ask him for the password.
Thankyou both for the good suggestions. I have now....cleared the database (I have the database he sent me) and installed WP using fantastico. Now I'm hopping it will work once I will import the database again. Lets see Thanks once again you both.
