Pls help in community site development

    I have copmleted approx. everything in my community site project.

    But how to show the updates on the Main page. Like orkut and facebook do.

    Whats the logic or DB structure?
    Is there any method in MySql?

    Is timer in javascript to reload the page. setTimeout();
    the timer will read the database and show the result.
