Myself and my partner are writers who put together large amounts of articles for various clients, plus the occasional personal project. But the reason I have been reading, and now joined, this forum is that I am looking to get away from such a business model, at least in part, and want to branch out into a more proactive method of making money online – something more 'scalable'. Whilst I want this I also recognize where our skills lay, in writing quality and informative articles. So I would be daft to move away from such well established, and commercially viable, skills. With that in mind I am giving serious consideration to setting up a membership PLR site. It's something in the pipeline rather than I am doing right now – I am currently doing the 'legwork' as it were – learning the technical aspects, doing the market research (sometimes I wonder if people do this enough online). Quick questions To that end I am looking for your help. As the membership of this forum is likely to be my target audience – i.e. People that buy PLR articles to help them make money – I want some advice if possible. What is it you look for in PLR membership sites, if you ever use them. And if you don't use them, why is that? To give you some pointers as for answers 1)Do you like it to be targeted to a specific niche? (as is my assumption) 2)Do you like it to have limited membership (and therefore limited amounts of articles to be competing with)? If so, how many? 3)How often do you like new articles released? (one large bunch a month? One a day? A few a week?) 4)What would you consider paying for a membership site that met all your criteria? Other PLR Now I am aware you can by huge collections of PLR articles for a few bucks, hell I've done it myself. The issue is that such articles are poorly researched and very poorly written. As rewriting a bad article is next to impossible, if you want quality anyway, and is certainly not something you would ever consider sending out in newsletters and the like I think there is a very solid market for well written PLR articles released on a regular basis (the large number of article membership sites along these lines tend to back me up). But I don't want this to be 'just another PLR membership site', I want this to be a true business, a worthwhile endeavor, so your advice and answers would be greatly appreciated.
what we find is that the free collection of several hundred thousand PLR articles on contentboss.com is popular primarily because the system 'spins' each article everytime it is requested, meaning that it's unique for every user. meaning they can just use it 'as is' - they don't have to rewrite it themselves first.
I dont understand what is the benefit of an essay/article for more then 2 sites? If I go to somewebsite and anotherwebsite, and both of them bought the same article off of you what good is it? I open my own blog and you supply me with the 'content' a few times a week? hoping that it will increase traffic? .. To me this sounds like half assed work by the blog owners to get traffic. So the internet is turning into a regurgitated article fiesta?!?!? I never met anyone before who loves writing up hundreds of articles on random subjects - That is what you do??
So what you mean is you have taken what is an honest ask for help from someone and turned it into an advertising opportunity for yourself? Thank you for that, such answers allow me to understand posters and companies - and my instinctive understanding of your business is now a self serving company that is determined to pitch itself to anyone and everyone with no thought of what they are doing or any effort to help. I appreciate your input, safe to say I shan't be using your services.
I see, you are aware that you are meant to rewrite such articles for them to be of use to you? therefore avoiding duplicate content penalties and everything being 'the same'. How you use such articles is up to you, there are thousands of different business models on the internet that require PLR content that can be easily rewritten, and many keep 'as is' for use either online or more often via ezines and the like. And yes I write large amounts of articles for various clients. I am a writer, it is what we do. Writing hundreds of articles is in fact what many people do - some making a very good living off of it
