Plog to WordPress...

    Hello all,

    I had searched all day from google.com, wordpress forums, plogworld.net's forums and even these forums for a importer script and had no luck. That is the reason for this post. I was hoping and wondering if anyone in here maybe knows of a script to import the posts and catagories of Plog into WordPress?

    I would make one myself, but.. I am not experienced in that line of coding. I had noticed alot of other people importing from other "blog softwares" like MT and so forth to WP, and was just wondering if someone wouldn't mind maybe making one up or if someone knows of one out there on the web some where and maybe I just overlooked it?

    If my Plog didn't have over 150 posts, I would have no problem of manually adding them to WordPress. I had noticed someone had made one up for an earlier version of Plog, but it doesn't work with the newer versions of Plog. Plus that link to the person's script is dead. :( Anyway, I was just wondering about this, and any replies, suggestions or comments are highly welcome. :)

    I know there is a generic RSS import feature in WordPress, that worked for me using Bloglines.
    If plog has rss output, you can probably use that.

    Unfourtunatly bloglines doesn't support categories, but other than that it worked great.

    Thanks for your reply danzarrella. :) Yeah, I had noticed about that import-rss.php script, through some people at the word press forums, plog forums and this lady used that import-rss.php script.

    And I even asked there on her guestbook how or what path did she use to pull up the RSS feeds from Plog but didn't get any answer. And I even asked the same question at the Plog forums and didn't get any answers. :(

    Here's part of the question I was asking.

    :lol: I know that lol. The questions I was asking for that import-rss.php was:
    In the wordpress import-rss.php file it says to add the location of the xml file or rss file example:

    <?php
    define('RSSFILE', '/home/twisteds/public_html/plog/'); <--(what's the url to this file or rss file in Plog?)
    // Example:
    // define('RSSFILE', '/home/example/public_html/rss.xml'); <--(what's the url to this file or rss file in Plog?)
    // or if it's in the same directory as import-rss.php
    // define('RSSFILE', 'rss.xml');
    Code (markup):
    1) I was just curious as to what and where these files are located lol?
    2) Also, with the MT2Plog plugin, is there away to maybe reverse it's procedure? Move Plog posts to MT? I got a copy of MT up and running as well..

    But I'm just not sure of the RSS, XML and whatever file is located in Plog to add to the import-rss.php file to bring over the Post's RSS Feeds.

    I manually added all the posts to the catagories with the least amount of posts in now...still have 100 some for the general catagory to move and 80 something to move from the rants catagory yet to...that's why the posts aren't showing in an up-to-date order. I'll do that then.

    I have manually added all the posts except for the two catagories with the most posts in it. I had just started manually adding some from the General catagory as well...which itself contain over 150 posts I think. Sigh...hopefully I can get all this done sooner lol.
