Recently 2co has started accepting paypal. But they have a paid account of 49$.And i think plimus is free and providing the same facility. Now if some one has experince with any one of them please mentin that, what is the main difference between them? Which is more secure? Don't think 2co is paid so more secure but let you suggest.
Plimus and 2Checkout are very different companies and they are set up differently. 2Checkout is primarily a general 3rd party processor while Plimus targets primarily the online software market. As for fees, 2Checkout charges a fixed fee of 5.5% + $0.45 per transaction while Plimus charges a sliding scale of between 15% to 4.5% (lower for the higher item price and has a minimum charge of 75cents). 2Checkout pays you on a weekly basis while Plimus pays on the 15th of the following month. I don't see one as being more secure or better than the other, it really depends on who you are more comfortable dealing with. I have been using Plimus for over 18 months now and I am happy with their service. I believe I am paying more in fees a month than if I were to use 2Checkout but Plimus suits my needs as I am a shareware developer.
does Plimus have chargeback protection? or how many days after making a payment, the customer can chargeback?
Chargeback is between the customer and the bank. When the customer initiate the chargeback, the bank has the ultimate control over the situation. So as for the chargeback, it depends on the bank's policies. Thus there is no such thing as chargeback protections when it comes to credit card payments. However, they do have a comprehensive checks done for each transactions to weed out any suspicious transactions by tallying address to ip and insisting that the name on card must tally with the order name and email address. You can opt to do manual review of each transaction which allows you to have the final say as to who gets or not gets to pay you. So far, although I experienced 2 chargebacks in the last 18 months, it was because of stolen credit cards.
lol i face 5 chargeback in just one month of time.... since then i dont use paypal and so i drop sale very badly because i only sell two copy through moneybookers as people dont use moneybookers much.. so i am looking for a better solution.... so if i use Plimus then will i still suffer paypal reversal and after how many days, the payments is not reversal and chargeback at Plimus because at paypal, a reversal can be done even after one year....
Of course, if there is a dispute or a chargeback, Plimus is not going to absorb your losses and they will pass it back to you. That's pretty much the real world. The only thing is that Plimus do not pass on the fees levied by the bank when you get a chargeback. However unlike Paypal standard service, Plimus has a comprehensive system of checks which would weed out orders which may ordinarily go bad. I find it important to review each order manually so that you have the final say as to the status of the transaction and also when you use paypal, make sure you only accept verified paypal accounts and also if only the address and the IP matches.
how can i accept verified paypal through Plimus? and how can i check the IP? does Plimus send me the IP of the transaction made by the person?
You can opt for Manual Review of all transactions. Once you do that, you can see which transaction to approve or deny. At the same time, it will show you the IP address of the party and if the person pays via Paypal, it will show if it is a verified or unverified account. There is also a real-time monitor which will show who is on your plimus order page.
thanks buddy for the info.... i will now look at my account that i register yesterday.... but i want to know one more thing... why i should not accept unverified paypal? is there is any risk for unverified paypal?
