By default, free email addresses are rejected but you can enable them. After you log into your plimus account, go to SETTINGS and under the GENERAL SETTINGS tab, just check the 'Accept free domain orders' option under 'BuyNow settings'. Then click 'Submit' and all free email addresses would be accepted. As for VAT, as long as the customer is from Europe, Plimus would collect VAT on EU behalf and pays them. This does not happen for non-EU customers. Make sure that in your Contract, you have the 'Include Vat in Price' unchecked so that if the customer is from EU, if you do not want to pay VAT for your customers but have them responsible for VAT. EU customers would be aware that they need to pay VAT.
Thanks for reply: Rep added. But i want to ask whether other payment processor like paypal deduct VAT from EU countries consumer while making online purchase? And if not then why Plimus is deducting VAT from EU. Regards Mudassar
What with plimus or without it? Paypal just charge a nominal fee for transaction and above that there is no surcharge. You can check here: http://ppcalc.com/ As for using paypal with plimus, I heard some bad experience from one of my friend. He told me that If somebody charge back then plimus will happily refund the money and above that take the same amount from you as fee. Say you sold for $10 and got chargeback then, that 10 bucks will be refunded as well as there will be a $10 bill from plimus for the same case coz of this.
2Checkout and other Payment Processors would need to collect VAT from EU Consumers. But they will not deduct the funds from what they pay you, basically the customers would have to pay extra fees. I am not sure what the current VAT rate is but supposed it is 20% and your price is $10, the customer would need to pay $10 to you and an additional $2 as VAT making it a total of $12. You will not suffer if the customer is from EU. EU customers knows that they need to pay VAT so you do not need to convince them about anything. Paypal is not a Payment Processor like Plimus or 2checkout but rather just a fund transfer platform. It makes it more complicating for you if you sell to an EU customer because you will then need to collect VAT for your EU customers and pay to the relevant tax department. Plimus and 2checkout frees you from this complicating process.
I own a new payment processor, SoftCartPro, that can match Plimus, BMT Micro, 2CO and many others in terms of features for the most part, and fees are only a flat 4.5%. No setup or monthly fees. I've had 10 clients sign up in 3 days! Take a look at our site and compare the fees: http://www.softcartpro.com
