Plimus No Longer Accepting Paypal?

I have just checked the method of payments field, Paypal seems to be removed.

Is this an isolated case or is anyone else experiencing the same thing? There is no news on their website regarding the removal of Paypal as a payment method.

but it will effect lots of business as now customers cant pay by paypal... not many people have CC or they dont want to use there CC's... so paypal was the best option.... normally this will effect countires that are not listed on paypal...

Well, I do not agree with that argument. Firstly, anyone who wants to have a Paypal account would inevitably have to have a Credit Card in order to verify their Paypal account and to fund it. It is not something which is optional but it is compulsory.

Those generally who do not have a credit card and have a Paypal account are generally those who are in violation and breach of Paypal's policies and contractual agreement in the first place. That is those who are underaged, from countries which Paypal are not supported, those who lied about their applications and those who uses fake verification method such as bought and uses other's bank accounts and VCC. Basically, people you should want to avoid as customers.

Incidentally, the Paypal option is back on again. See http://www.pdncommunity.com/blog/article?blog.id=mts_updates&message.id=166

    Actually you're wrong about that.

I signed up with Paypal and used my bank account instead.

I transfer money from my checking account to my Paypal balance.

This is how I pay for things now.

And it seems the option has been removed again, just in time for Christmas too. sarcasmYay! Way to go Paypal now./sarcasm.

You do not need a credit card to join Paypal any.

I do not have one, and I joined Paypal just fine.

I think you are missing the point. There are quite a few countries where it is impossible to get paypal. Many merchants from those countries (Russia, India etc) have to have a third-party payment processor to accept paypal payments. This will indeed affect lots of businesses and we'll see lots of migration to other registration services away from plimus. I used plimus before and even with paypal they sucked. So I moved my business somewhere else a long time ago and I don't regret a thing since then
