Plimus, 2CO or FastSpring for selling digital Products?

Hi i need advice. I will start an ebook business very soon and I need a Merchant account that accept credit cards. Please let me know which of the three is the best for digital products. And a payment page that will convert in more sales.

I heard that Plimus always have phone verification for customers when buying products even if they will use paypal as payment (is this true?). This is a hassle for my future customers and will lead to a low sales conversion.

Fastspring has a nice shopping cart that can lead to sales.

Im not sure with the other 2co yet. BTW Im from asia so I cant use Authorize.net

    Please advice on this...

    Hey,

If I was you I would go with FastSpring.

I did all the research myself months back and they seem like the most flexible as well as best. They have pretty good customer service.

They also offer marketing consultation, SEO audit, PPC help. Different currencies are also available and translated order pages.

They also have integration with google analytics. They can also get their system compatible with major affiliate networks like CJ, LinkShare and many more. And they will even at least try to make your affiliate system compatible with their system.

If you are on a tight budget for affiliate management - use Mike Filsaime's butterfly marketing script.

They have coupons, price testing, automatic TAX compliance (both US & international), mail-in rebates, surveys, FREE file hosting, PCI complaint, DRM protection

They even fight fraudulent or accidental chargebacks for you and if they lose they pay the fee out of their own pocket. (provided you have normal chargeback rate of course)

    SEO friendly urls...

And I agree, their order pages look very professional, top notch and they defiantly look much better IMHO than clickbank and many other payment processors. Ironic since clickbank is bigger than FastSpring.

FastSpring has LOWER fees than clickbank. They have excellent an shopping cart system. cross sells and upsells.

I did all the research and nothing has compared to FastSpring. I'm being unbiased by the way and I have no associate with FastSpring except as a client.

They only value in clickbank I see is their large database of affiliates. I'm not bashing CB, but to be honest I'd probably never go with CB due to mainly because of their inflexibility and their major problems.

They also have huge refund rates, no control over blackhat affiliates, order pages branded with their logo and no shopping cart.

Also they are EXPENSIVE. $50 per product? You always want to reduce your expenses.

    2CO - I wouldn't go with it.

    Plimus - No good.

With that said, go with FS. You won't regret it.

PS. Many people think that CB is going to make you successful if you are selling ebooks. What they don't realize that CB is just a payment processor and affiliate system. Nothing else. The only advantage with CB is their affiliate system and it can also be beneficial if you are just selling one ebook and don't require flexibility in the long-term. Personally - I run businesses which require lots of flexibility - therefore CB is no good for me. Take DoubleYourDating.com for example - CB and many other payment systems will fail accommodate it's needs.

Pick whichever you want. But I personally suggest to go with FastSpring. They only downside they probably have is lack of physical fulfillment.

Take a look at Kagi.com - they offer physical fulfillment. I'd still pick FastSpring though.

    Good Luck.

Also - FastSpring's quality of payment processing is comparable with having a merchant account. flexibility, features and quality of order pages is like having a merchant account.

Also the top affiliates are not usually tied to a payment processor which also has a affiliate network included. Exception being CB and even CB has some blackhat affiliates.

You will find top affiliates on major affiliate networks as these affiliates seek out major advertisers and big companies.

FastSpring lets you integrate with pretty much any major affiliate network.

2Co is one of the fastest growing payment processor for products and services. They have very good customer service. I have worked with them for 2 years. Things runs smoothly so far.

I've been with Plimus for 3 years now, and they really, really suck. Horrible service. I am currently taking a hard look at Fastspring. Heard nothing but good things.

There are really many options available for you. And it all depends on your business needs. If you decide to go with a 3rd party payment processor, you may want to consider PayPro Global as a good alternative. With a 3rd party processor setup is usually easy and fast, they do lots of development, so there is no headache for you. I personally work for PayPro Global and would be glad to assist you with any questions you might have.

    Kind regards,
    Natalia
