Pligg good idea to get some traffic to parked domain?

Is it a good idea to put Pligg on a parked domain or a subdomain of a certain website just to get some content to there? Right now I have Pligg on the subdomain of a site I want to make big. In a couple months when this subdomain has some traffic thanks to the Pligg content I would like to redirect it to my main domain. Good idea or not?

well, once you start developing the name it would seem logical to dump the parking. especially since many parking companies do the dns for you. the revenue from a developed site should do better than a parked site.

You'll still need to promote and build the site as any other, pligg is not going to automatically generate traffic for you without effort as it relies on submissions., in which case you might as well just dive in and build the site ;)

Yes off course you need to build traffic to it, but it's probably a good way to get some content on that domain?

Pligg has lots of bugs.. I have a pligg site and it's consuming lots of memory. If you want to make it big, you have to switch to Dedicated hosting sooner or later. Good luck.

The biggest issue with Pligg for me is the spam... Now I've just deleted the register page and I let the content come :) Memory is not an issue for me atm.

Don't expect others to supply your content - you will only get spam. The web is littered with abandoned Pligg sites with little content. Better to install a simple CMS and add your own content.

I just have a few feeds relevant to my domainname and the site and I have deleted the register file so that others can't register. I'm the only member on my Pligg site and I have the RSS importer ;)
