OK I have a question regarding Plesk Backup. Does it really store all the data of a website, ie. all the content, when you use it to back up the whole server? I mean, I've done it a couple times, and according to the output it *looks* like it's backing up everything, but the resulting file comes out to be around ~223MB - and there's about 1.5GB of total content across all the sites.. One site has about 200MB of JPEG images, surely the thing can't be compressing everything *that* much, can it? Basically, what I want to know is, if I manage to crash the server and am relying on the Plesk Backup, I'm not going to end up with a nasty surprise and lose all the content on my sites, because it's not really backed up, am I?
Look into the backup file, there should be: www directory, mysql tables, mail data. It is possible that plesk compress all account data. One of my site is 1.5gb oh html files+200mb of mysql database. Cpanel compress is to 258mb archive
Last I remember, its incredibly hard to extract a Plesk backup file, you have to use some decrypters and other stuff. The only time I've ever used a Plesk backup, it had backed up my entire server.
