Hi, I made a little photoshop of how I wan to position the google ad in my post. I was wondering if it is allowed by google to have a small part of the image near the ad (like you see on the image).
Just because does not mean it's allowed just sites do thing's that have not been caught. You are not allowed to place ad's next to images. It's states that in the TOS of adsense.
It appears to be a judgement call. "We ask that publishers not line up images and ads in a way that suggests a relationship between the images and the ads. If your visitors believe that the images and the ads are directly associated, or that the advertiser is offering the exact item found in the neighboring image, they may click the ad expecting to find something that isn’t actually being offered. That’s not a good experience for users or advertisers. Publishers should also be careful to avoid similar implementations that people could find misleading. For instance, if your site contains a directory of Flash games, you should not format the ads to mimic the game descriptions." Probably the worse that could happen is Google spots it and tells you to remove it.
As zeek mentioned its a judgment call and as long as your not misleading users then it is ok. If that is the actual screen shot you might have to work on the relevancy of your Adsense ads though
