    hello,
keyword density must be between 2% and 6% in a webpage to get a higher rank in various serps
use a tool to calculate it such as keydensity.com

Keyword density is the measurement in percentage, the number of times a keyword or phrase appears compared to the total number of words in a page.

recommended keyword density is 2% to 8%

    Keyword Density = keyword count/total word count x 100

It depends on the search engine - from what I have read, Google is about 4-6%, and Yahoo is anywhere from 2-6%.

There is 'no magic' number for keyword density.

Check the keyword density of your competitors, who are ranking for the keywords and phrases you would like to rank for. This is a good place to start!

True, there is no magic number. Checking your competitor's keywords with well optimized websites can help you setup your keywords at the right density. You can use this keyword density checker tool to check your keyword density.

3-5% is one option and as Tara33 said there is no magic number. Anything over 7 or 8% is going to look stuffy.

If you research good keywords and use them properly and put them where they belong, that will make a huge difference.

Its really a myth. Just make sure you have your keyword somewhere near the start of the page and repeat it naturally throughout. Don't sit there and calculate a density and slot it in if it doesn't read like a real article.

The best keyword density is varied upon your article. If you want an effect, well-planned article, put enough density in it so that it may be found easily via search engine. Do not put too many in there, because that tends to cause the article to not make any sense (or repetitive).

    Hello kenny,

There is much talk about the ideal keyword density of a web page. The bottomline here is that there is no thumb rule regarding the ideal keyword density in a website, mainly because the search engines change their algorithms frequently. Also, different search engines allow a different keyword density. So, while a more than 2% keyword density is considered spamming by Google, MSN and Yahoo allow a liberal 5% keyword density in a web page. While some search engines attach more importance to keywords in your title, meta tags and web copy, Google - the most important search engine, searches for keywords in your web page text.
