Hello all, My first post, wont be my last, I promise Along with a friend I started a website, teddynation.com Basically it's a continuously expanding world of Teddybears. Our visitors seem to like and remember it, so we're doing something right. We made a dress up game which gained us quite alot of traffic (up to 500 visitors a day, now falling again as our game dissapears out of the "recent games" sections of the flash game websites). I'm not sure how to market this website next. We do not have alot of money to put into this unfortunately, seeing as we're both students. Any suggestions on marketing ideas(suggestions for the website are welcome as well) for our website would be appreciated. Thanks
I think i might try Facebook first, seeing as most of my friends have facebook. I could probably get a kickstart through them.
Facebook is definitely one option you should explore. Stumbleupon is not a bad place for some traffic either. You could make a video, upload it to Youtube and other popular sites, and put your site in the credits. If your video is a hit, you'll certainly get many visitors to your site.
Try submitting articles to some article directories - this will increase traffic by two ways: 1. The readers of your articles will visit your site. 2. You will get more backlinks, which should boost the page rank of your site so you rank higher in the search engines.
Yeah, i was suprised it was free. Already started working with Facebook. Next project will be digg and stumbleupon. Once i figured out how best to work it
I like it. Its different and has the potential to have a cult following. Do them all. Twitter, facebook, even Bebo. Work up a following and have a competition Offer a free prize for the winner... maybe a t-shirt with a custom designed bear? Do a cheap press release and use all the puns you can to make it catchy. Good luck
1/social media sites - like Twitter, Facebook etc 2/Social Bookmarking - digg, delicious, etc 3/RSS feeds - use feedburner, submit site to loads of feed directories 4/blogging 5/Press Releases -http://www.prlog.org/ i-newswire.com / prurgent.com / pr.com etc
