I m a B.Tech. 3rd year student and I m studying DBMS from KORTH which everyone says is the best book for DBMS. Yes it is a very good book but everything is explained too much and I don't have that much time coz my exams are going to be held next month only so I have to cover all the topics which is not possible from this book.Specially NORMALIZATION I have read from this book but still have confusions. Please suggest me some good websites or books where I can clearly understand the basics of DBMS. Thankyou.
You want to learn DBMS concepts or you want hands on experience on DB? If it is for hands on approach, I would suggest "Head First Series". If it is for learning concepts, the best book would be "Fundamentals of Database system"by (ELMASRI,NAVATHE,SOMAYAJULU,GUPTHA.) Happy Learning
KORTH & NAVATHE both are good books for learning the basics of dbms. whichever database u r preferring, either sql or oracle, it should be learned by practicing it : by installing the setup and having hands on approach for it!!!!!!
use internet or http://fianga.com/ this site for learning database sql from scratch. It is indeed a well know site for complete course of sql database
I think korth is best, but as you said you have limited time so you can join some crash course of sql star institute they are the master of dbms.
