I am new to dedicated server. Please suggest me which one is best Godaddy or hostgator I am thinking for Softlayer also but my budget is low. Budget not more than 180$ /mo
What are your requirements? What kind of specs are you looking for? Do you require a cPanel? You've got a pretty good budget IMO. Let me know. Thanks.
In my opinion both Godaddy and Hostgator offer dedicated servers at prices which are a bit high. There are plent of other hosts which will provide the same or much better services for a smaller cost than those two aforementioned will. So look around, is and will be my best tip to you. Have a quick look at the guys in my signature for example, and look at MIA here above. Look around and you'll find many alternatives who in fact vastly surpass both Godaddy and Hostgator.
I would agree the prices are a bit higher than they really should be for what you end up with. I can't speak to Host gator but I haven't had the greatest experience with Godaddy dedicated server support...
I'd recommend checking out SingleHop. They have some very nice lower end plans and an ATOM box that's well below your budget. From what I can see, there's also a coupon code available too: holidays2010 30TB of bandwidth and 30% off your first month Very nice deal to say the least...
Hello, In dedicated hosting, you rent a server that is not shared with anyone else, where as in share hosting, many websites are hosted on the same server to save money and share resources Thanks
So many PM I confused... Please suggest me reliable hosting. Requirement: Linux Dedicated Server 2 GB RAM 2500 BW 2x250 Hard Drive cpanel I have few sites having more than 15k visitors For start up what should be processor? currently i m using godaddy shared hosting and many other reseller account too. But most of them suspended my sites due to using heavy server resource but not in the case of godaddy. So i little bit clear to go with godaddy but before that i need a discussion for better option if there?
Dual Processor with tweak apache setting or lighthttpd will work. I suggest you to have a look here: www.hostingRQ.com we are offering a crazy deal for a good Brand Server - only 12hours left. I'm here to assist you if you need.
There are more reliable hosting providers than hostgator and/or goddy (1and1 for example or Rackspace or Hertzner etc...) They may be abit more expensive but you get great support.
I think that the best solution will be to compare all the mentioned recommendations here and choose the best.
if Optimizator is right, then RightServers sound like a good idea. I'd stay as far away from Godaddy as possible if I were you. I just ended up switching to host gator, they have amazing customer service, no overly complicated and laggy control panels like Godaddy. I have found no faults with them at all so far.
GoDaddy 1. Godaddy is one of the most popular web hosting companies, most likely due to heavy commercial advertising. Overall, Godaddy is a good webhosting company that offers just about any feature one could ask for in a web host. 2. Godaddy offers a do it yourself solution for just about any adjustment that you need to make with your domains and hosting. For example, with Godaddy, you can switch the primary domain on your hosting account yourself, by using the change of primary domain wizard. Some smaller hosting companies do not officially offer a do it yourself solution for things like this. It can be done, but usually requires a call to customer support to have them do it. 3. Godaddy does however, have one major con. They are always trying to market something to you. It’s not uncommon to get 2-3 emails a day from Godaddy that are marketing some product to you or trying to make you upgrade to something more expensive. Also, Godaddy does offer a surplus of more features than traditional web hosts. However, they also charge you for the majority of them. 4. Godaddy’s rates tend to fluctuate a lot, but they do offer a lot of promos which you should take advantage of. The right promo code will get you a domain for 7 bucks and 20% off of your hosting. HostGator 1. Hostgator is a very simple web host to use. They also have some of the best customer support in the business. When you purchase a domain through Hostgator, you are actually using Registry Rocket services to acquire the domain. From there, Hostgator registers the domain name to your hosting account. 2. Hostgator can be seen as a slight disadvantage. If you want to make domain changes on your account, you have to know how to adjust DNS servers yourself, and do it through Registry Rocket. However, if you don’t want to bother with making changes like this, just send Hostgator an email and they will do it for you, no charge. 3. Hostgator has good uptime, and they don’t bug you with marketing offers.Hostgator rates for hosting and domain purchasing are mid range in price for a web host. But, they do accept promo codes, which can save you a couple bucks here and there.
I find hostingsource dedicated plan as a perfect match for your needs. They are known as a stable and featured host and I've seen lots of positive feedbacks on their services
If those two choice I would go with Hostgator over Godaddy. I am wondering why many peoples here do prefer Godaddy like they are professional hosting company. They were never will never be like that. They are fairly good if your requirement is a basic website or blog.
