Please suggest a PHP-MySQL-Apache combination

    Hi.. I want to learn php and do some developments. I am confused with different php, msql and apache versions, which of them are need to be downloaded for installation. Please suggest a good combination..

    Like he said, if you're on a PC download Wampserver from the link above. But one thing to be careful about is that the new version of Wampserver has PHP5.3.0 and some of the older functions have been deprecated, so you might end up getting errors if the tutorials you're using to learn use deprecated functions. One solution to this is to additionally download the PHP5.2.11 addon from the Wampserver site and then at any time you're using Wampserver you can choose which version of PHP you want to run.

    Oh absolutely, don't mess around with trying to install the three yourself. You MIGHT succeed, but it's unlikely, or it won't work properly, or the security will be off or something, Just use a ready solution like WAMP/XAMP. Also, I can't see much point in using anything other than the latest versions of PHP etc. UNLESS your host does not provide the latest versions, or you are going to program for back-compatibility for some reason.
