Please suggest a good book

    Please suggest a good book to maintain a dedicated server.I found one 'dedicated server handbook'.But it is very costly.Can any one suggest a cheaper one.

    There is so many topics to cover on a dedicated server. It depends what is the purpose of the server. Basic dedi are LAMP server. LAMP stand for Linux Apache Mysql PHP.

    Try seraching on the web, you will find alot of answers.

    You will need to learn about the OS first.

    Decide on the OS that you're going to be using and start learning as much as you can about that. Definitely concentrate on administration and security. With a Linux distribution you can easily find all the information you need online.

    Hi,

    Are you planning to use a windows server or linux server?
    In case you plan to use a windows server, i would recommend grabbing a book from the bookshop as there wont be much of help regarding the startup things required in windows, when compared to the huge collection of linux
