Directory listings have other values besides pr. Page rank is just a add bonus and good quality listing come at a price. Morevoer, most directories that have these kind of price tags are because they put alot in the directory to make sure that sites like yours do in fact get the best value for your dollar.
If you are simply looking for a high PR page, you may want to submit to alive or aviva and few others. Make sure to check the actual page your site gets on, not just the domain PR. Consider also the total number of outbound links placed on that page. The fewer the better. As for getting ranked high at SERPs, if you can find directories that rank high at SERPs with competitive keywords (somewhat general terms, combination of 3 words), you will also get a strong backlink. Usually authoritive directories or any websites get ranked high with general terms. PM me for my directory, predicted PR6. It's a bit pricey but I can place yours on top level page (PR4 + 1 click away)
You need to first check, double check, and sometimes triple check prior to making a post claiming what you said. I see a PR5 for that category. Not all DC's are in sync, so sometimes it is better to re-re-check your findings.
