Hello. I recently developed this blog Technology Engage and i was planing to submit it do dmoz. Can you sugest me a category ? It fits under the technology niche, but surfed dmoz and i cant make up my made. Care to sugest me a category ? Regards.
Hi DonPedro - I dont *think* they have a firm policy on this (unless it is pretty recent) but if I were on the other end of the submission I wouldn't list a blog with a 2 day track record. Typically directories look for some age on a blog to make sure... They dont list something that gets a flurry of activity and then goes dormant (not an uncommon occurence with blogs). They get the placement correct (a very short period doesnt always provide a representative sample of future content) In dmoz even without a firm age requirement it'd probably fall under the guidelines associated with "content". Your call, but I'd age it about 6 months (with steady activity) before I expected directories to take it seriously. THE PLACEMENT QUESTION That said... as far as placement I'd probably send it to: Computers/Hardware/Technical_Evaluations_and_Product_Reviews/ http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Technical_Evaluations_and_Product_Reviews/ Disclaimer: I cannot speak for Dmoz (OK, technically neither can anyone else here unless they are AOL staff). This is just my opinion based on exp with Dmoz and other directories. UNSOLICITED SUGGESTION(s) You didnt ask for suggestions of this nature, but fwiw (IMO)... Be sure to provide tags for ALL posts to give SE spiders an idea what the post is about. It'll help you get found by readers using Search Engines. From a user-friendly perspective it helps to format reviews with a full line space between paragraphs, and keep paragraphs at 3-5 lines for easier read.
