Hi, I'm trying to build a database site on my own. I have couple questions. 1.) Could you please show me example of a fully-functional database site, and the benefits of creating one? From what I learned, database sites are created for couple reasons: For building links. For monetizing traffic once the pages become indexed. 2.) Would it be a good idea to create a wordpress blog in the database domain, so people can anchor-text inside from the blog, so I can gain links? Sorry, i'm not too certain of what I'm talking about. How does someone 'link' to my database site in the first place? Apologies for rudimentary questions. Thank you.
Hi, I am actually not too sure of what you are talking about, so I am going to guess. In the first place, a "database" site does not look different from a normal site, it is just a site whose content is stored in a database. Some examples would be: http://forums.digitalpoint.com, all blogs - www.softsmart.co.za (my own). I think that you actually might be talking about a directory site? A site where many sites list themselves and people can search through and find sites in certain categories. Please clarify a little... Regards, John
Ok, If you mean the "content database" driven sites like the ones where you pruchase the database and make website based on it I can give you few examples: www.shot-cocktail-recipe.com -- 56,000 cocktail recipes database I got my hands on a while back www.clubsbase.com -- 120,000 club, bars and pubs database a friend of mine has. both of them are done with good SEO in mind and receive a lot of traffic and are monetized by AdSense.. I'm not going to give your number since I don't want to disclose those .. Cheers, Venetsian
