Hi, im wondering how many traffic can be handled by your vps? [<$25 / month] currently i have vps from rocketvps rs3 - 4 cores - 1gb dedicated ram, 2,5 gb burst - raid 10 hdd pure rpm - openvz - cpanel - nginx as reverse proxy - w3 total cache - disk enhanced last 3 months it can handle (wordpress site) 80k unique hits / 250k pageviews per day and the server still fine. may be the main problem is disk io, so im planing to take ssd vps from ramnode and i expect more than 500k pageviews per day. is it possible? thanks
Hello, as far as I understood you are not satisfied with the quality of your current VPS. What do you think about the server with the following configuration? Disk Space SSD 30 GB RAM 3 GB CPU core Intel® Xeon E5 4 Monthly Traffic 2000 GB/mo Cpanel Operating System CentOS 5, 6, Debian 6, Ubuntu 12, Fedora 16 VPS technology KVM
Taking into account the situation you have fetched up at, can recommend Dailyrazor.com Their VPS plans look great. Have had no issues. My sites where all transferred free and everything went smooth. They mean business and they provide excellent service.
may be your requirement can be fulfilled if you can take a look over gogetspace's VPS plan. or you can also try blue host or hostgator.
Run 'top' in SSH and show us what the result is - could be I/O wait like you stated, or poor MySQL optimizations, etc. That will help us tell if there's more you can get from it. Keep in mind that Ramnode have strict CPU usage terms - load cannot go about 1 for an extended period of time.
Any decent provider is going to have CPU usage terms. If you're using an entire core of a server continuously (rough equivalent of a 1.00 load), you need something more than a VPS. You cannot allow a1 or 2 people on a server to monopolize all the resources. What would be left for the other clients?
I agree 100%, and wasn't trying to say otherwise. I read it as if the OP intended to grow even further on a Ramnode VPS (compared to their current provider), and that CPU use would be an issue (as it is with any other provider) if CPU usage is what is causing their current issues, rather than high I/O wait with their current provider.
ya, cant decide yet, ramnode is not the best option. cause sometimes i need little high load for certain periode of time for building sitemap. may be i will stay with rocketvps for a while
You're getting 80k unique hits per day yet don't want to spend over $25/month in hosting? If your site is getting that much traffic, you should be able to make that $25 in MINUTES. Moving past that, SSH into your VPS and use a tool like dstat, iotop, or sar to monitor your disk IO to see if that's an issue, and use top to double check if your CPU or RAM usage is too high. If not, you're all good.
For 80K uniques per day I'd definitely recommend moving to a dedicated server if you're looking for the stability and good performance for your project.

It is a good point to start, however personal contact with sales, support and even current customers of the provider would give much more info and clear image of the company.
