I'm wondering if some of you would be willing to please help me by signing this petition. I realize some of you are angry about Iraq, and I completely understand. I know there has been so much violence in this world, and I wish I could change that. Right now I'm just trying to help this one soldier and one dog. I found this story tonight, and already posted about it on my dog blog, because I want to get as many signatures as I possibly can. It is a petition to the US Army. This soldier Sgt. Gwen Beberg befriended a stray puppy in Iraq, and named him Ratchet. This is against the US Army rules. There have been instances where soldiers have been kind to dogs and befriended them, and the US Army commanders have executed the dog. This soldier was due to leave Iraq, and raised $4000 to have the dog sent back. She was on her way to taking the dog to the airport and the military confiscated her dog, with the most likely plan of killing it. It would not hurt the US Army one bit to allow Gwen Beberg to save this dog. It is a power play. Now they are investigating this soldier as well, with the threat of disciplinary action. The only crime she committed was having a kind heart. I know there are so many bad things going on in this world, that this may seem small. It's sad to see that the world is full of dimwitted people. There are far more important issues happening out there and these people are concerned about a soldier befriending a dog? Duh... Anyway, I signed the petition.

Hi I did sign the petition but keep in mind the Armies point of view there are thousands of soldiers and thousands of stray animals, to move a animal from one country to another is a 10 day-3 week quarantine and it is not cheap,speying,innoculations
