please reveiw my new website www.lakeland-furniture.co.uk any advice opions are very much appreciated. My goal is to make it a very simple and clear shopping experience. All comments welcome many thanks in advance ryan
Very nice. The only thing I can suggest I to make margin-top smaller. Also you can consider switch from using html tables to sections (divs).
Here are my suggestions: General: 1. Looks clear and light, but lacks some design and composition. 2. I would improve navigation, that confuses me a bit on first look. Elements: 1. I would improve the logo - looks too simple - at least tweaking fonts, apply font styles in photoshop, etc. 2. Increase the distance between the top menu text and green border by 3-5 pixels (or center it right in that green line). 3. When clicking on the search input field, grey text is not removed. Highly recommended to remove it on focus. 4. I would use the top menu for general things like contacts page, articles, etc and the left one for product types. i.e. swap them. 5. The left menu. a) I'd make it more noticeable (other font or more space around it), b) The text below the left lenu looks similiar to the menu links. 6. Colors. I would use fewer colors in the color scheme. I'd leave the 'green', black and some grey and throw away the magentas and cyans. That's all for the moment on my point of view..
Images quality can be improved and the header seems a little bit empty. try some new layouts and navigation styles.
Nice site, the only thing I would be concerned about is a logo. All businesses need a catchy simple logo. I could design you one if your interested?
Overall, the site is simple as you're trying to accomplish. As others have said, get a good, custom logo. It will improve the overall feel of your site drastically, and will help it to look a tad less generic. I like the way you present each furniture category with a little image graphic. This is one of your major focal points - so make sure this area is easy to use and straightforward. In your left sidebar you're having some problems with some of the links. You have extra _ symbols. Instead of saying "Terms_Conditions" it would be best if it said "Terms & Conditions"
Suggestions: Have a logo Cleaner and clearer font and photos Give the About Us section some personality, who are You, are you involved with charities, which one's, do you donate any monies to them, etc. Personalize with stories A few ideas anyway
Not a big fan of the use of aqua or aqua/green. I would pick another shade of green to use in its place.
very nice site, but if i click on the "free 25" banner on the right site then i get to an empty page. i would suggest you add some content to that site. but in generak you did a very nice site. good luck b
