Looks so much more better with a white background on the left! I also like the drop shadow effects you've applied to the cubes! Looks 100X better!! I just have 1 suggestion.. to make the background will the whole page (there's a large white gap area on the right for me because my laptop's screen is so wide). Looking good
You don't need to load it initially - load it when the mouse moves over. You can do that dynamically. Why would someone pay incremental amounts of money, when the perceived value of the cube remains the same? I know the high value cube offers more benefits, apparently, but why would someone buy them for much higher prices? After a certain point, the increase in value of the cube will not make much sense for the buyer. And, I was not trying to be negative by saying it is based on the pixel site. If I touched a raw nerve there, I apologize. But I can assure you, I won't be the last person to say so Like I said, it looks interesting to me - which is why I am still here, writing to you for the second time. If you market it the right way, it has the opportunity to take off. Best wishes!
I like your idea , But what is motivation of a visitor to click on a cube , bcoz all cubez look like same.
Hi jill_domains - No, I understand you were not being negative (and you didn't touch a raw nerve ) Ok... I'll take a look at the rollovers at some point then. Thanks for the info. I'm still confused by what you mean with regards to the selling of a cube - lol. Ok... If a customer purchases a cube for £10 - the value is £10. Let's say they increase the value by £20 through referals; then their cube is worth £30. They might then sell it for £20 - which means they make £10 profit yeh? and the buyer has a £30 cube, but only cost them £20??! Make sense?? We'll get there I'm sure
Hi tulip4heaven - Have you clicked any cubes yet? Curiosity drives visitors to clicks different cubes for different reasons! But the cubes have had a lot of clicks - some in the hundreds!
Cool! Hmm...look at it from the perspective of the customer - he sees some £1 cubes which he can purchase - and he sees some £20 cubes - what is the additional incentive for him to spend an additional £19? (I know that you display the highest value cube on 7 other pages - but that is only one cube).
Hi Jill - Stats show that the higher the cube, the more clicks they get and once a few more cubes have been sold, the £1 cubes will be off the edge of the page unless you scroll down. This will encourage owners to keep their cube as high as possible and yes... some visitors may only wish to pay £1 which is fine - that's why you may pay what you like But... it's shown already that some people pay more than £1 - around half have paid more than £1 and around a 1/5 of people have paid more than £5 so... I guess we'll have to see what happens. We have a few additions coming soon such as targets to hit as an incentive so this may help things. Thanks again for your comments
You may want to re-think your terms... If your website is successful, eventually the tax man will come knocking on your door and when he does he'll be looking for VAT/corporate tax (if you register as a business) or just PAYE if you operate as a sole trader. Assuming that the success of your site is borne from advertisers 'selling' their cubes and blogging about the website afterwards, it stands to reason that you will only be getting your 10% cut from the majority of the cube sales. You'll be taxed on your profits/total sales (depending on whether or not you operate as a business/sole trader) but either way you won't see much of the revenue generated by your venture. I would suggest that you raise your cut to at least 25% before you get too many subscribers. Unless you have plans to raise money another way?? Incidentally, I pitched a similar idea back here in September without much luck!! Here's hoping you do better than I did!
Thanks - I'll need to make £4000 PROFIT before the tax man comes knocking and if so... he can have the £700 TAX. I'll be pleased I've made £3300 from the site Thanks for your comments though
8everything - You mentioned about ensuring the site was Web 2.0 and believe this also means that the coding should be Transitional?? Is this correct? As the site is XHTML 1.0 and CSS Transitional
I mean, is this page designed only for web crawlers or search bots? 'Coz it seems like only bots can read as many links on the said page. No offense meant, but, I read from an old article that hiding text or links under images or abstract images is not a good practice. Just curious.
Hi - I'm still slightly confused with what you are saying. Links are not hidden under images. The images all contain rollover text and are direct links
Hi - Well... the site is receiving over 10,000 hits daily and generating a fair amount of interest. We've been ranked as high as 50,000 for the day on Alexa too
Thanks for the comments... I'm working on it - Only so much time Thanks for all the comments and if you have any questions regarding advertising with us don't hesitate to PM me
