Quite a nice looking template for phpld. I would move popular categories into the right column. Also the yahoo news is totally unneccessary. number 1 it leads your sites visitors off your website, number 2 it does not complement or fit in with the directory template., finally it is not relevant, the news is not world business related.
I'm seeing a lot of open space on the right side. Either move some content over there or narrow the page. In this context, open space actually makes the site look more messy than if it were more "crowded" together.
