    Hello,

    My first blog attempt:

    I am interested in:
    - Comments on the layout
    - Ideas to monetise the blog
    - Possibly, tricks that may help the blog go up in the Google rankings

    Brutal is ok as long as it is constructive and helpful.:D

    Layout:
    1) Top is good.
    2) Main table: Make all your ads and archives/login links in one column. Otherwise half of your space is empty (IE 6). Google ads in right column should be better embedded. they also make half of the page be empty.

    Color scheme: mostly good. Except lightblue links hover to brown is not good(imho). Red text sux completely.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I see a huge issue: your Google adsense block underneath the your header does not seem correctly fit in the area and therefore some of the text in the adsense block is incomplete - and you can't see "Ads by Google" either.

    Make sure you get that fixed.

    Also, I recommend you spice up the right portion of the website with some images. Liven it up a little.

    firstly you and me have same theme :) (see my signature)

    I will be changing the theme very soon to a premium theme so we wont match for long! Just have a look at my website and I am sure you gonna learn a lot about how to optimize it.

    Remember too many ads can be disturbing..
