The site does not look professional, I do not like the template or the background, you should consider getting a professional template and adding some unique content to the landing page.
When I scroll down/up, the background dominates. I would prefer having a softer background. Font size as someone already highlighted must be larger.
I think its too late to launch Obama site. The background looks hopeless. there is no picture(at least i can't see any) of the man himself Mr. Obama. Your blog does not at all looks professional. but all said and done important thing is content and page hits, if you can manage that you will be the winner.
