So, I've spent several weeks pumping this site with unique content (notes on the drawings, live tags, tweaking the meta tags) and I think I'm ready to try and make a grab at the coveted first page of 'wildlife art' SERP: http://www.wildlife-artworks.com/ One thing that may be a problem; this is a add-on domain to inkart.net, which is a PR5. It is a sub-domain animals.inkart.net or inkart.net/animals. Does that matter for SERP? Ideally, I would like to get all the inner index pages to come up on the first page of SERP for the respective animal + 'art'. Examples 'bird art' 'frog art' 'african wildlife art' etc. If someone could review it and make suggestions it would really be appreciated.
The content is good but I do not like the template I think the site would look better if you got a more professional template.
I like it, it's quite nice. However, there seems to be a bug with your website. The header and footer images seem to rollover and repeat again. Have you tested your site on other browsers/resolutions? I'm using Firefox 3.0 on 1280x768.
I like the colors and the layout of the website. Looks good. However, you have a few SEO problems. For example: http://www.wildlife-artworks.com/drawings/amphibian_artwork.php Your frog image links to the frog page. However, the image's alt text is 'frog drawings' and not 'frog art' which is the MONEY term (19x traffic). I would recommend changing the alt tag and a few other changes and you will be ranking soon. PS: you are #10 right now for frog drawings on Google. Didn't check other engines or terms but that is pretty promising for your site. If you are getting decent traffic you might just want to add targeted links with 'frog art' as the anchor text. PM me if you need more help. -J
Now, what I'm a little nervous about is this: inkart.net has been indexed heavily in Google. It is my black and white artwork site. I wanted to create a color site with the terms 'wildlife' and 'art' in the name to try and snag some 'wildlife art' searches. Again, it is a sub/add on domain. It's actually located in inkart.net/animals or animals.inkart.net. Will that hurt my SERP? The content on inkart.net and animals.inkart.net is pretty similar. Will Google think I'm spamming?
Thank you for the input. At the moment I'm less concerned about the design. My SERPs stink for all the keywords I'm hoping to bag (i.e. 'frog art' 'bird art' 'african wildlife art') I'm trying to get some ideas how I can improve it so that in the SERPs it ranks for 'wildlife art.' At the moment it's not even in the top 10000! If there are SEO folks who think they can help me out please PM me.
