I am interested in buying this website, www.eFor-Real.com, with some partners. And I would appreciate sincere opinions on the design, likeability, and relatability of the website.

    Thanks for your time.

What kind of investment are you looking to make?
Is there something the site has that isn't immediately obvious?
    • dreadful domain name
    • homepage graphics are grainy and uninspiring
      [IMG]
    • No clear purpose given for the site
    • The menu looks like it's from the '90s
      upload_2020-2-26_8-56-42.png
    • There's barely any content. In questions, there are only 4 and they're so low quality.
    • The use of advertising on pages like https://www.efor-real.com/4420/business-name-generator-tool-for-free-use/ is clumsy
    • I just realised that it's a wordpress site - it's slow, dreadful theme, the developer has no idea how to enqueue javascript and css, dreadful animations, you'll need to start over if you buy it.
My advice would be to walk away. I wouldn't even buy the domain for the reg fee. You could recreate this site in a few hours on a better domain, with a better theme.

Edit: What is code like this supposed to be doing?
    <link href='https://www.chessstrategyonline.com' rel='preconnect' />
    Code (markup):

Thanks for the feedback, it was most insightful. But we wanted it for the news that were posted on the activity page. Please, can you share your idea on how we can recreate the information in a few hours? Because It seems like they were handwritten over a couple of years.

https://www.efor-real.com/activity/ I do know the owners, one of whom invited me to be a contributor to the website. I do also like what it is about. But I feel that I can do better than what is currently done. I need help evaluating the website technically.

What other technical info do you need?

    It's on WordPress
The theme is shite and badly constructed
    The user experience is shite
    The content is shite

I would pay good money to NOT have this on my site:

    Ms. Sarah,

OMG! You write like you have personal grievances against the platform. I agree with some of your recommendations like the landing page and maybe the theme format etc. But I would admit that there are some great contents in there that I want, especially those on the activity page.

Anyway, thank you very much for your review. Best

I got yours, but I'm wondering if @Ken2279 has already bought the site and is now regretting it. I hate to think what they paid if they needed "partners" to finance the deal.

@sarahk is being POLITE about this train wreck laundry list of how NOT to build a website. Illegible colour contrasts, non-dynamic font-sizes, JS for nothing controlling the layout basically doing CSS' job, broken to nonexistant alternative navigation, page having no graceful degradation scripting off... and that's BEFORE I even look at the code.

Where the homepage alone is a train wreck laundry list of how NOT to make a website. Massive static scripttardery in the markup, static CSS in the markup... you'd almost think it was built with the monument to developer incompetence that is turdpress mated to the ignorance and ineptitude common to bootcrap developers. Go find a stick to scrape all that off with before tracking it across the Internet's carpets.

All that before we even talk about the complete lack of content on the home page to tell anyone why they should give a damn about what the site is for... which without creating a login what is the site even for?

It's ENTIRELY what I've come to expect from idiocy like turdpress and bootcrap, with every single possible design and development failings common to both. Hence it barfing up 46k of markup for a quarter k of plaintext, five form elements, and not a single content image... in all likelihood not even 4k of HTML's flipping job!

not recommended, i have no idea what could you see in this site..
no content, awful domain name that worth ZERO, even reg fee is too much for it
just search for a good domain name or invest in buying a premium one and build your own site..
wordpress is good, just find the right theme

    Hey Ms. Sarah,

I have been busy revamping the website. Left the domain name as is, but had someone make some updates to the home/landing page, and edit the CSS. The website seem to be doing so much better with increases in organic traffic.

We are still working on other modifications, but I will want your impression on improvements done so far.

    Thanks

    "Deep breaths Sarah, deep breaths"

I can't believe you bought it.

I can't believe you think you've improved it

Those 5 images in the centre aren't clickable and the font on the menu is still abysmal!

I did look at some inner pages like https://www.efor-real.com/question/...te-work-from-home-job-in-a-dwindling-economy/ - have you even looked at the page layout?

...and once again, images that look like rendering errors. images doing CSS' job, illegible colour contrasts, illegible fixed metric fonts, JavaScript for nothing, COMPLETELY broken layout on smaller displays (particularly hieght-wise), imagtes too large in filesize to even be on a website in the first place, lack of content on the landing page making it an SEO and UX wreck.... this "update" reeks of an artists under the DELUSION they know what design is spank it all over the page.

Made all the worse by the typical turdpress train wreck of ignorance, incompetence, and ineptitude that is 48k of bloated garbage markup for 195 bytes of plaintext and 5 cointent images, not even 5k of HTML's flipping job.

    NOT an improvement.

-- edit -- also I left the tab and console open by accident, and you're hemorrhaging scripting errors non-stop.

    Absolutely.

Would I take the job? Not without seeing your business plan and being convinced that you'd recoup my fees. The domain is awful, the site is awful, I really can't see how you're going to get revenue from it.

    You are throwing money away.
